It is a Cuban Son ensemble founded by conguero Félix “Chocolate” Alfonso in 1959. Their original line-up included Niño Rivera (cuban guitar), Agustín Cabrera (voice, guitar), David Palomares (piano), Armando Albertini “El Gorila” (trumpet), “Chino” León Lahera (main voice), Arístides Valmaseda (main voice), Filiberto Hernández (voice), Sergio de Cuba (double bass) and Pichi (bongo). Albertini and Palomares led the band, while Rivera was responsible for the arrangements.
The Guaracha style of Dominguito Cruz is performed. He incorporated three congas into the structure of the melody something that was not very usual at that time.
